中餐馆落户仰光至少有百年历史。早在清光绪年间，仰光便有了数间酒楼。60年代缅甸实行国有化，中餐馆大为萎缩。只是最近十几年缅甸经济开放后中餐馆才蓬勃发展起来。仰光中餐馆有300家，其中酒楼饭店约50家，中式快餐店约250家。
